A tribute to the Ford Fiesta
Ford has announced that the iconic Ford Fiesta will be discontinued in 2023, marking the end of the UK's love affair with this humble hatchback.
For almost fifty years, the Fiesta has been the mainstay of our roads, beloved by motorists everywhere, from first-time drivers and families to car enthusiasts and commuters. The Fiesta was such a force of nature that between 2009-2020 it consecutively held the top spot for the UK's best-selling car. You may be surprised to learn that over the past 46 years, 4.8 million Fiestas were sold – a stunning achievement.
But all good things must come to an end.
Ford has decided to stop production on the Fiesta, preferring to place its efforts on its growing portfolio of electric cars. The last Fiesta to roll off the production line will take place in June next year, although it will be several years until the Fiesta disappears from the used car market.
