Dace Specialist Car Centre Stockport - Closure Notice

From Christmas 2025 Dace Specialist Car Centre, Stockport was closed. All our Stockport Specialist staff have relocated to Dace German Car Centre on Manchester Road, Stockport.

Why?

Dace Specialist Car Centre Stockport was the first additional dealership we opened away from our original home in Reddish, Dace Car Supermarket. 15 years ago, we opened what would become Dace Specialist Stockport as Dace Xchange. We were growing quickly at the time and wanted a new home to sell our part exchanges from.

This would take some of the increasing volume away from our busy Car Supermarket, provide an affordable option of slightly older cars for customers to choose from and enable us to service a different area of Stockport.

Very quickly, we realised our mistake. Our success was built upon our reputation for quality and refusal to compromise. Our customers didn't want less. If anything, they wanted more. More choice, even higher quality, higher specification, even more specialist cars. And so, Dace Specialist Car Centre, Stockport was born.

Our Reddish Supermarket didn't have a showroom at this time, so we were delighted to hand pick a selection of high-quality used cars that we could display from the Specialist Centre's all glass showroom and busy A6 standing forecourt.

The Specialist Car Centre was a huge success. So much so, that Dace German Car Centre quickly followed and then Dace Specialist Car Centre, Manchester. By now, all our dealerships were working to the same exacting quality standards as the Specialist centres.

The same lack of compromise in vehicle selection, vehicle preparation, and customer service. Our customers know that whether we sell a nearly new sports car, or an older, higher mileage family car, they will have both been prepared to the same specialist standard that is now our trademark.

Then, two years ago, we faced a choice with our beloved Car Supermarket. It was 30 years old and a little too long in the tooth for us to ignore. Our custom base kept expanding, our standards and quality kept rising and it was clear that the site could no longer cope with what we were asking of it.

It would either require a complete rebuild, or for us to close it down and continue our expansion by opening more dealerships elsewhere. We chose to rebuild. It was our home and where our story had started, we couldn't just leave.

After 18 months of hard hats, hard work, portacabins and investment, our incredible new Car Supermarket is now up and running. If you haven't managed to visit it since it reopened, you should go to have a look around. It's very impressive.

So why close the Stockport Specialist site? The truth is, it was also getting a little old and we really don't need it anymore. All our dealerships now specialise in the higher quality cars that gave the Specialist Centre its name and Stockport now has our new, purpose-built car supermarket, a few miles down the road.

Then we have the always busy German Car Centre. Also, in Stockport and selling the very best of our German Cars. Predominantly Audi's, BMW's, Mercedes, Mini's and Volkswagens, but also the other members of the VW family, Skoda's, and Seats.

So, rather than ask customers to visit 3 different dealerships in Stockport to look for their next car, we're going to provide all our cars from two. Our Supermarket has an even larger selection of every type of car you can think of and our German Centre has even more high quality German Gems.

I'm a previous customer of Dace Specialist Stockport, what does it mean for me?

Almost nothing! Every member of staff from our Specialist Centre in Stockport is now working at our German Centre. If your car is under warranty with us, we are just as available to assist you.

You'll need to call the German Centre instead of the Specialists. When you are looking to choose your next car, you can still do so with your favourite Salesman from the Specialist Centre. Again, you'll just need to visit the German Centre on Manchester Road.

A New Chapter

We will be sorry to close the doors to a dealership that has provided thousands of our customers cars over the past 15 years. Our team have loved working there and have built relationships with customers that will last a lifetime.
